What is Camp Canada’s health insurance policy ?
We provide each staff member with a comprehensive health insurance policy. Both you and your camp will be provided with details of your health insurance policy before your arrival into Canada.
How long am I covered for?
Camp Canada provides a 10-week (70 days) comprehensive medical insurance to every participant through Guard.me This insurance is very comprehensive and should cover most injury/illness that can occur at camp.
What’s covered as part of my health insurance?
The policy does not cover flights, baggage, or cancellations - it is purely health insurance. Some participants choose to take out their own travel and flight insurance.
Unstable pre-existing medical conditions are not covered by this medical insurance policy. If you have an unstable condition, please contact our Health Insurance team at firstname.lastname@example.org
Can I extend my health insurance?
You are required to have medical insurance for the entirety of your camp contract. If you are working longer than 70 days, you'll need to take out your own policy or extend our policy for $2.85 per day. You can extend your policy by filling out this form.
How do I make a claim?
If you need to visit a doctor or hospital while in Canada, you should bring your insurance policy with you (this can be found on your Camp Canada account). The hospital may be able to bill the insurance company directly, or you may have to pay up-front and submit a claim to be reimbursed. Be sure to save the hospital report and your receipt.
The easiest way to submit a claim is online. You'll need your policy number, receipt, and hospital report/doctors notes. Direct deposit it the fastest way to be reimbursed (typically 2-3 weeks).
